My Latest Bespoke Textile Creation
I've finally finished the completely hand made Elephant I've been making for one of my sisters. She's named Lyuba after the baby Woolly Mammoth discovered in 2007 in Russia. (Lyuba actually means 'Love' in Russian.) Every one of the 1842 beads was stitched on individually by hand. I'm surprised I didn't go blind in the process of stitching on so many tiny beads! It was a true labour of love but my sister is worth it. (Now I just just have to finish the bespoke creation I'm making for my other sister!)
As you can see, under one ear I have put my business label and under the other a little message to show it was a bespoke creation made specially for my sister.
I hope you like it. I intend to make several for sale, although probaby not so heavily beaded. So watch this space!
As always feedback would be welcomed and appreciated.
So until next time.
Cheers Then!

New Surface Design Collection For Fashion
For a while now I have been working on fashion as well as interior surface designs. I try not to be swayed by what I see in fashion and interiors magazines and on the websites I follow but instead begin working with a simple motif or colour palette and work from there. I then work with the motif on a variety of scales. Once I have decided on which scale I feel the motif works best, I then begin trying it out in various fashion or interiors based settings. The designs below were conceived using this process. I was also keen to work on a cohesive collection of designs. It just so happened I felt these surface design worked better on dresses rather than scarves or other fashion based items. I hope you like them. As ever feedback is always appreciated. Until next time.

Just discovered a great blog by chance. I happened to google Kirsty MacColl and one of the search results was Gary's blog. Once I started looking through his posts I became an instant fan. I really love the individuality of his wonderful quirky illustrations.

Costume Design Submissions
A friend of mine is involved in pre-production work on an independent film which is based around a fictional girl group in the middle of the 1960s Merseybeat scene in Liverpool. I have submitted some costume designs for the film. With a bit of luck some might find their way into the finished film. Here's hoping! Below are some of the designs. The designs themselves are vintage 1960s designs, into which I have added my surface pattern designs. I hope you like them.

Hello again ...
Sorry my posts have been a little thin on the ground of late. I'm working on some commissions and some interiors and fashion design work at the moment.
Will hopefully post a few sample design sheets of surface designs for fashion in the next few days ... so watch this space!
Cheers Then.
